These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of RiskQuest, a virtual entertainment platform accessible at riskquest.games. RiskQuest is built around a single promise: "Risk everything. Lose nothing." — we simulate every risky activity (casino games, sports betting, leveraged trading, prediction markets, horse racing, mystery cases, and more) and strip away all real-world consequences. Your gameplay is real; the risk is not.

By creating an account, accessing, or using RiskQuest in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue use of the platform immediately.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use RiskQuest. Users under the age of 18 must obtain verifiable parental or legal guardian consent before creating an account or using the platform.

By using RiskQuest, you represent and warrant that you meet these age requirements. RiskQuest reserves the right to request proof of age or parental consent at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet eligibility requirements.

RiskQuest is a virtual entertainment platform. All gameplay, balances, rewards, items, and mechanics are simulated and exist solely for entertainment purposes. RiskQuest has no real-world monetary value associated with any virtual currency, item, or outcome.

The platform offers a wide range of features, all using virtual Riskcoins:
• Casino-style games: Mines, Multiplayer Mines, Plinko, Wheel, Blackjack, Roulette, Poker (multiplayer Texas Hold'em), Darts, Coin Flip
• Action games: Crash, The Runway, World Quest
• Mystery Cases: open virtual cases for cosmetic rewards
• Stock Market Simulator: simulated trading of crypto and equity instruments using live third-party market data, with optional leverage
• Sportsbook: virtual wagers on real-world sporting events and player props using live odds from third-party data providers
• Horse Racing: wager virtual currency on simulated horse races
• Predictions Market: a virtual prediction market for in-platform and real-world events
• Casino Chips: a cosmetic chip-customization system
• In-Game Phone: a simulated mobile phone interface containing Banking, Messages, Calls, News Feed, Daily Reward, Quests, Friends, Leaderboard, a Game launcher, and the RiskBot AI assistant
• Social features (friends, chat, lobbies) and a peer-to-peer Marketplace

RiskQuest is not a gambling platform, sportsbook, broker, dealer, investment adviser, or prediction market in any regulated sense. No real-money wagering, betting, trading, or cash-out functionality is offered. Virtual currency (Riskcoins) cannot be redeemed, exchanged, sold, or transferred for real-world value under any circumstances.

To access the full features of RiskQuest, you must create an account. Account registration is handled through Firebase Authentication using email and password. Providing an email address is optional but recommended for account recovery purposes.

Username Requirements:
• Usernames must be between 3 and 20 characters in length
• Only alphanumeric characters and underscores are permitted
• Each account is limited to a maximum of 2 username changes over its lifetime

You are solely responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify RiskQuest immediately of any unauthorized access to your account. One account per person is permitted. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension or termination of all associated accounts.

RiskQuest offers a Guest Mode that allows users to explore the platform without creating an account. Guest Mode provides a starting balance of $100 in virtual currency for demonstration purposes.

Guest Mode Limitations:
• No progress, balances, or items are saved between sessions
• Access is limited to single-player games only
• Multiplayer features, the friend system, marketplace, and quests are unavailable
• Guest accounts cannot make real-money purchases

Riskcoins ("RC") are the virtual currency used within RiskQuest. Riskcoins are entertainment credits only and hold no real-world monetary value.

Earning Riskcoins:
• Through gameplay activities including Riskable games and multiplayer matches
• Completing quests and milestones (rewards range from 75 to 500 RC)
• Daily free claim of 50 RC every 36 hours
• Redeeming valid promotional or redemption codes
• Purchasing with real money through the Shop

Spending Riskcoins:
• Purchasing cosmetic skins, casino chip designs, and abilities from the Shop
• Wagering in Riskable games (Mines, Plinko, Wheel, Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, Darts, Coin Flip, Crash, The Runway, World Quest)
• Opening Mystery Cases
• Placing virtual wagers in the Sportsbook (real sporting events, player props), the Predictions Market, and Horse Racing
• Opening simulated positions in the Stock Market Simulator (with optional leverage)
• Trading in the peer-to-peer Marketplace
• Placing matched bets in Multiplayer Mines

Riskcoins may be modified, reset, reduced, or removed at any time at RiskQuest's sole discretion. RiskQuest makes no guarantees regarding the persistence, accuracy, or availability of Riskcoin balances.

RiskQuest offers optional real-money purchases of Riskcoin packages through the Shop. All payments are processed securely via Stripe Embedded Checkout.

Available Packages:
• Starter: 1,000 RC for $0.99
• Popular: 7,500 RC for $4.99
• Premium: 20,000 RC for $9.99
• Ultimate: 100,000 RC for $24.99

All purchases are one-time payments. RiskQuest does not offer subscriptions, recurring billing, or auto-renewal of any kind. RiskQuest does not store, process, or have access to your credit card or payment card data. All payment information is handled exclusively by Stripe in accordance with their security standards and privacy policy.

All virtual currency purchases are final and non-refundable. Once Riskcoins have been credited to your account, no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.

By completing a purchase, you acknowledge and agree that you are buying virtual entertainment credits with no real-world value and that you waive any right to a refund.

Chargebacks: Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or payment provider may result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of all virtual currency and items associated with your account. RiskQuest reserves the right to pursue any available remedies in the event of fraudulent chargebacks.

Riskcoins cannot be converted, withdrawn, cashed out, sold, or transferred for real-world monetary value under any circumstances. There is no mechanism to exchange Riskcoins or any virtual item for real money, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or any other form of real-world value.

Any attempt to sell, trade, or transfer Riskcoins or virtual items for real-world value outside of the platform is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination.

Gameplay outcomes on RiskQuest may be influenced by a combination of skill, probability, randomness, and system mechanics. No specific outcome is guaranteed at any time.

Server-Authoritative Game Logic: All Riskable games (Mines, Plinko, Wheel, Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, Darts, Coin Flip, Crash, The Runway, World Quest) use server-authoritative random number generation (RNG). Game outcomes are determined on the server and cannot be manipulated or predicted by users.

House Edge: Riskable games include a house edge, meaning that over time, the expected mathematical outcome favors the platform. This is consistent with the entertainment nature of the platform.

RiskQuest does not guarantee wins, favorable results, or any particular return on virtual currency wagered. Past outcomes do not influence future results.

The Sportsbook, Stock Market Simulator, Predictions Market, and Horse Racing features are all 100% virtual. They use Riskcoins only and offer no real-money payouts.

The Sportsbook displays live odds, scores, and player statistics from third-party sports data providers. These data may be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable, and RiskQuest is not responsible for any virtual losses caused by data errors or by the postponement or cancellation of real-world events.

The Stock Market Simulator displays live crypto and equity prices from third-party market data providers and supports leveraged positions. Nothing in the Stock Market Simulator is financial advice. RiskQuest is not a registered broker, dealer, or investment adviser. Users should not make real-world investment decisions based on simulator activity.

The Predictions Market and Horse Racing are entirely virtual gameplay features and do not constitute regulated prediction-market trading or pari-mutuel betting in any jurisdiction.

RiskQuest includes a simulated In-Game Phone that contains multiple in-platform apps including Banking, Messages, Calls, News Feed, Daily Reward, Quests, Friends, Leaderboard, a Game launcher, and the RiskBot AI assistant. The Phone may also surface in-platform notifications.

RiskBot is an automated chat assistant intended for entertainment and informational purposes only. RiskBot's responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on RiskBot for financial, legal, medical, or any other professional advice. Do not share sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, real banking credentials, or passwords) with RiskBot or with any other RiskQuest feature.

The In-Phone Banking app is a UI representation of your virtual Riskcoin balance. It is not a real bank account, holds no real funds, is not insured by any deposit-insurance scheme, and is not regulated by any banking authority.

RiskQuest offers multiplayer experiences including Multiplayer Mines (2 players) and Poker (multiplayer Texas Hold'em tables). All participants must engage in fair play at all times.

General Multiplayer Rules:
• Respect turn-based rules and game mechanics
• Do not intentionally exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended behavior
• Lobby privacy levels (public, friends-only, invite-only) must be respected
• Lobby chat must follow the communication guidelines outlined in Section 12

Multiplayer Mines:
• Both players must place matched bets to begin a game
• A prize pool is formed from both players' wagers
• Forfeit or disconnect during an active game results in the opposing player receiving the entire prize pool
• Intentional disconnection to avoid losses is considered a violation of these Terms

Violations of multiplayer rules may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans at RiskQuest's discretion.

RiskQuest provides a friend system with features including friend search, friend requests, real-time presence status, direct messaging, and lobby invites. All communication on the platform must be respectful and appropriate.

Prohibited Communication:
• Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
• Threats of violence or harm
• Hate speech, discrimination, or slurs
• Sexually explicit or inappropriate content
• Spam, excessive self-promotion, or phishing attempts
• Sharing personal information of others without consent

Messaging Limits:
• Text messages are limited to 500 characters per message
• Image sharing is limited to 1MB per image
• Rate limits apply: friend requests (10/minute), chat messages (30/minute), lobby invites (15/minute)

RiskQuest reserves the right to monitor, review, and store messages transmitted through the platform for the purposes of enforcing these Terms, ensuring user safety, and complying with applicable law. Violations of communication guidelines may result in warnings, message restrictions, or account suspension.

RiskQuest provides a peer-to-peer Marketplace where users may list, buy, sell, and trade cosmetic skins and racehorses for Riskcoins. The Marketplace is provided as a convenience for users to exchange virtual items.

Marketplace Rules:
• Only virtual items (cosmetic skins and racehorses) may be traded -- no real-world goods or currency
• Trade offers are limited to a maximum of 5 items per offer
• Negotiation threads are available; both parties must confirm before a trade is finalized
• Items and horses listed for sale or trade are locked from use while the listing is active
• Sellers may require horses meeting minimum Speed and/or Stamina thresholds in exchange; the lowest-stat qualifying horse from the buyer's stable is auto-selected on completion
• Each horse is unique; ownership transfers atomically with all stats, colors, and race record intact

Users trade entirely at their own risk. All completed trades are final and irreversible. RiskQuest acts solely as a platform facilitator and is not liable for any disputes, losses, or disagreements arising from Marketplace transactions. RiskQuest does not guarantee the value, rarity, or desirability of any virtual item or racehorse.

RiskQuest features a quest system that provides milestone-based challenges such as winning matches, surviving for specified durations, and completing gameplay objectives. Quest rewards are paid in Riskcoins (75-500 RC) and are subject to change at any time.

Promotional and redemption codes may be offered from time to time. Such codes are for one-time use only, may have expiration dates, and are subject to additional terms and conditions as specified at the time of distribution.

RiskQuest reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any quests, promotions, or reward programs at any time without prior notice. Accumulated but unclaimed rewards may be forfeited if a quest or promotion is discontinued.

All items, skins, abilities, and upgrades available through the RiskQuest Shop are virtual licenses, not ownership rights. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use purchased virtual items within the platform.

Skins are cosmetic only and do not affect gameplay mechanics, outcomes, or competitive balance. Abilities may have usage restrictions including cooldowns, limited uses, or game-specific availability.

RiskQuest reserves the right to rebalance, modify, or remove any virtual items, skins, or abilities at any time without prior notice or compensation. No refund of Riskcoins or real money will be provided for modified or removed items.

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities while using RiskQuest:

• Exploiting bugs, glitches, or unintended behavior for personal gain or to disrupt the platform
• Cheating, hacking, or using unauthorized third-party software to gain unfair advantages
• Botting or automation -- using scripts, macros, or automated tools to interact with the platform
• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the RiskQuest platform or its source code
• Harassment, threats, hate speech, or abusive behavior toward other users or staff
• Account selling, trading, or sharing -- accounts are non-transferable
• Circumventing bans by creating new accounts after being banned or suspended
• Impersonation of other users, RiskQuest staff, or any third party
• Sharing explicit, illegal, or harmful content through any communication feature
• Attempting to manipulate or interfere with server-side game logic or RNG systems
• Using multiple accounts to gain unfair advantages or circumvent platform restrictions

Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspensions, permanent bans, and forfeiture of all virtual currency and items, at RiskQuest's sole discretion.

RiskQuest reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time, with or without prior notice, for violations of these Terms or to protect the integrity and safety of the platform.

Consequences of suspension or termination:
• Banned users forfeit all virtual currency (Riskcoins) and virtual items associated with their account
• No compensation, refund, or reimbursement will be provided for suspended or terminated accounts, including for any real-money purchases made prior to suspension
• Ban reasons are tracked and may be communicated to the affected user
• Attempting to circumvent a ban by creating new accounts will result in additional enforcement action

RiskQuest enforces multi-tab detection and limits each account to one active session at a time. Violation of session limits may trigger automatic disconnection or account review.

RiskQuest is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access to the platform at any time.

RiskQuest is not responsible for any losses of virtual currency, items, progress, or gameplay outcomes caused by bugs, crashes, synchronization issues, server downtime, network interruptions, or any other technical issues.

While we strive to maintain platform stability and resolve issues promptly, RiskQuest makes no warranties or guarantees regarding uptime, data integrity, or the accuracy of displayed information including balances, game states, or transaction records.

All content, code, game logic, designs, graphics, audio, trademarks, logos, and branding associated with RiskQuest are the exclusive property of RiskQuest and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Unauthorized use, reproduction, distribution, modification, or creation of derivative works based on RiskQuest's intellectual property is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.

User-Generated Content: By submitting content to the platform, including but not limited to chat messages, trade listings, and profile information, you grant RiskQuest a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute such content in connection with the operation and promotion of the platform.

RiskQuest integrates with the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

• Firebase Authentication (Google) -- user authentication only
• MongoDB -- primary backend database
• Express & Socket.IO -- backend API and real-time multiplayer/chat layer
• Stripe Embedded Checkout -- payment processing for real-money purchases
• Google Analytics 4 -- platform usage analytics and performance monitoring
• Google AdSense -- advertising on certain pages
• Live market data providers -- real-time crypto and equity prices for the Stock Market Simulator
• Live sports data providers -- real-time odds, scores, and player statistics for the Sportsbook
• Google Fonts -- typography assets

Your use of RiskQuest is also subject to the terms of service and privacy policies of these third-party providers. RiskQuest is not responsible for any interruptions, data issues, or service failures caused by third-party services, including delayed or inaccurate market data, sports odds, or scores. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of these providers independently.

RiskQuest is distributed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) and may be installed to your device, pinned to the Microsoft Edge sidebar, or added as a system widget on supported platforms (such as the Windows 11 Widgets Board). Installation is optional. The widget surface displays a static or refreshed snapshot of public, non-sensitive account information such as your Riskcoin balance, daily reward availability, or rank.

RiskQuest declares an age rating of 13+ via the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) framework. Age ratings are advisory.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RiskQuest and its creators, operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or emotional damages arising from or related to your use of the platform, including but not limited to:

• Loss of virtual currency, items, or progress
• Inability to access the platform or specific features
• Unauthorized access to your account
• Errors, bugs, or inaccuracies in game logic or displayed information
• Actions of other users, including in multiplayer or marketplace interactions

RiskQuest's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to your use of the platform shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to RiskQuest in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. If you have made no purchases, RiskQuest's total liability shall not exceed $10.00 USD.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RiskQuest and its creators, operators, employees, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to:

• Your use of or access to the platform
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the platform
• Your interactions with other users, including marketplace transactions and multiplayer gameplay

Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of RiskQuest shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered in accordance with applicable arbitration rules, rather than in court.

Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Small Claims Court Exception: Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the jurisdictional limits of such court.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any legal proceedings not subject to arbitration shall be brought in the appropriate courts within the United States.

RiskQuest reserves the right to modify, update, or replace these Terms at any time at its sole discretion. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the platform.

Continued use of RiskQuest after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes that significantly affect your rights or obligations, RiskQuest will make reasonable efforts to notify users via the platform. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.
